LASER Skin Peel or Skin Resurfacing
Have you had serious scarring from past acne attacks? LASER skin peel can help you;
you don't have to live with the double punishment of first the pimples and then struggling to cover up
the scars. LASER skin resurfacing can make your skin smooth and youthful. It's an affordable,
non-surgical, virtually painless treatment for skin blemishes and fine wrinkles.
LASER skin peel will trim away small layers of the epidermis to regenerate a newer
smoother skin surface. Unlike other treatments such as chemical peels or dermabrasion,
laser resurfacing provides a more predictable and uniform result. The LASER can be programmed
to uniformly remove between 10 and 20 microns of the surface of the skin (a red blood cell is
approximately 7 microns).
A chemical peel relies on weak acid solutions to burn off the skin. The depth of the burn is
difficult to calculate and frequently will produce an uneven appearance and sometimes unwanted
hyperpigmented (dark skin) scars.
Dermabrasion is done with either a sandpaper-like grinding surface or a "mini sand blaster."
Although these techniques may have value when deep scars require smoothing, they are more
likely to produce uneven surfaces and scars.
LASER resurfacing provides a more predictable office procedure for skin resurfacing than either
chemical peel or dermabrasion.
Not only can a laser skin peel remove the scars of acne and blemishes, it also has the power
to smooth fine wrinkles. Skin resurfacing procedures may be combined with injectable dermal fillers.
Restylane® and Juvéderm™ provide excellent reduction of the more deep lines around the lips and deep frown lines. While Botox® works
for the frown and crow’s feet lines.
The unique benefit of these procedures is that they can all be performed in the doctor's office,
without surgery, minimal recovery time, and at an affordable price.
